American Valve’s 4000 Series Ball Valves feature a patented, PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy alkane)-fused solid metal ball. This technology fuses a layer of PFA, a material similar to Teflon, directly into the metal surface of the ball. This feature is designed to inhibit the buildup of lime, calcium, and sludge, making the valve more resistant to corrosion and wear.

This is the core technology behind the ScaleRX scale prevention system. The system uses alloy discs to generate a weak galvanic current and turbulence in the water flow. This process disrupts the formation of hard calcium carbonate crystals (calcite) and causes the minerals to crystallize as soft aragonite instead.
